Hollywood is reeling from the loss of legendary actor Gene Hackman, who passed away at the age of 95. The veteran actor was found dead at his home alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa. The news has left the film industry in shock, with tributes pouring in from fans and celebrities alike.

Actor and comedian Bill Murray paid his heartfelt tribute to Hackman, describing him as a tough but brilliant actor. According to Deadline, Murray recalled how Hackman was not always easy to work with but was undoubtedly one of the greatest actors in the profession. The two had worked together in the 2001 comedy-drama film The Royal Tenenbaums, where Hackman’s intense persona often created tension on set.

“He was a tough person, Gene Hackman, but he was really good,” Murray said. “Old great actors don’t always give young directors a chance. They can be harsh on them. Gene was really hard on Wes Anderson, and I often stepped in to defend my friend.”

Murray further shared that Hackman could deliver perfect takes, even when others struggled to match his performance. “I watched him nail scenes when no one else could. No wonder he could get frustrated.”

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Hackman and Arakawa were found in separate areas of their home. Arakawa was discovered in the bathroom with an open prescription pill bottle nearby, while Hackman was found in the mudroom with his sunglasses still on. Additionally, a deceased dog was found near Arakawa, though two other dogs on the property were unharmed.

Authorities have not found any signs of forced entry or hazardous gas leaks, but the case remains under investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
