Kangana Ranaut’s parliamentary seat is currently embroiled in controversy, with new developments that could unsettle her supporters. A petition has been filed against Kangana Ranaut, the Member of Parliament from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
The petitioner claims that her nomination papers were allegedly rejected improperly. The court has issued a notice to Kangana Ranaut, requiring her to respond by August 21. The petitioner, Laya Ram Negi, has become a significant threat to Kangana Ranaut’s seat.
Demand to Cancel Election
Following the petition, Justice Jyotsna Rewal has issued a notice to Kangana Ranaut and has ordered her to respond to the matter by August 21. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the actress won the Mandi seat by defeating Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh with a margin of 74,755 votes. The petitioner, Laya Ram Negi, is seeking the cancellation of Ranaut’s election, alleging that the returning officer improperly rejected his nomination papers and that he was also made a party to the case. These allegations are serious and the court is paying close attention.
Various Allegations
Laya Ram Negi, a former employee of the Forest Department, claims that he received an early retirement and therefore did not submit a certificate of clearance from the department along with his nomination papers. Negi asserts that if his documents had been accepted in time, he might have won the election by defeating Kangana Ranaut.
