In a surprising development, it has been announced that Laapataa Ladies will be screened at the Supreme Court of India tomorrow, August 9th. Both the film’s producer, Aamir Khan, and the director, Kiran Rao, will be present at the screening and will engage in a discussion with the audience.

This news has left many astonished, as only a few films have had the privilege of being showcased at the Supreme Court. Reports suggest that the Chief Justice of India will also be in attendance, accompanied by his wife.

The film will be shown from 4:15 PM to 6:20 PM after the court’s working hours, followed by an interaction session with Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao.

The notice states, “As part of the activities commemorating the 75th year of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India, the film Laapataa Ladies, based on the theme of gender equality, will be screened on Friday, August 9, 2024, in the auditorium of the C-Block, Administrative Building Complex. Ms. Kiran Rao, the director, and Mr. Aamir Khan, the producer, will be present during the screening.”

Laapataa Ladies was a joint project of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, though the two are no longer together. The film, which features actors Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, and Ravi Kishan, has deeply resonated with audiences.
