Actor M Mukesh in Legal Trouble Again: Popular Malayalam actor and legislator M Mukesh is once again in hot water as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has filed a second chargesheet against him in a sexual assault case. The latest chargesheet has been submitted in the Ernakulam Judicial Magistrate Court, further complicating the actor’s legal battle.
New Evidence Strengthens Case Against Mukesh
According to sources, the chargesheet includes crucial evidence such as email conversations and WhatsApp chats that reportedly confirm the allegations against Mukesh. To strengthen the case, SIT has also gathered witness statements and additional proof. A week earlier, a similar chargesheet was filed in Vadakkanchery Court, adding weight to the ongoing investigation.
What Is the Case About?
Actress Minu Munir had earlier accused multiple figures from the Malayalam film industry of sexual misconduct, including M Mukesh. She alleged that Mukesh promised her membership in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) in exchange for sexual favors. Minu claimed that Mukesh behaved inappropriately with her and attempted to tarnish her reputation.
Mukesh’s legal team had previously stated that the actor would fully cooperate with the police investigation and would seek dismissal of the case if the allegations proved false.
Serious Charges Under IPC Sections
Mukesh has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including:
- Section 376: Rape
- Section 354: Assault or use of criminal force to outrage a woman’s modesty
- Section 509: Words, gestures, or acts intended to insult a woman’s modesty
Additionally, Minu Munir had named other prominent Malayalam film industry figures, including Idavela Babu, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Jayasurya. She accused Jayasurya of inappropriate behavior during a film shoot and of inviting her to his flat, though she clarified that she refused his advances and he did not exert further pressure.
Mukesh’s Response to Allegations
The actor has denied all allegations, maintaining that he is willing to cooperate with authorities. However, with the latest chargesheet including digital evidence and witness testimonies, his legal troubles appear to be escalating.
