Mohan Babu, a renowned South Indian actor, is currently embroiled in a controversy after allegedly attacking TV9 reporter Ranjit. A police case has been filed against him, with authorities adding a new charge of attempted murder to the complaint. The incident occurred 36 hours ago, but as of now, Mohan Babu has not been arrested. Meanwhile, the reporter, Ranjit, suffered injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

According to reports, Mohan Babu was scheduled to appear before the police at 10:30 am the following day but reportedly checked into a hospital, citing high blood pressure as the reason for his absence. There is speculation that this might be an excuse to avoid questioning. The police have yet to arrest the actor.

The attack took place when the reporter went to Mohan Babu’s residence on December 10 to cover a reported dispute between the actor and his son, Manoj. During the encounter, Mohan Babu allegedly snatched the microphone from the reporter, used offensive language, and physically attacked him, causing a head injury. The incident has sparked outrage among journalist organizations, who are demanding that the police file an attempt to murder charge. Following the outcry, the police amended the charges and included Section 109 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to the attempt to murder.
