Businesswoman Nita Ambani wore a purple blouse adorned with real gold leaves paired with a pink saree for one of her son Anant Ambani’s wedding functions. Let’s delve into the details of this exquisite piece.

Nita Ambani, Chairperson of the ‘Reliance Foundation’, is known for her impeccable taste in fashion as well as her business ventures. Her outfits and jewelry often make headlines, and her looks for each function during her son Anant Ambani’s wedding were no exception, drawing everyone’s attention with her stylish ensembles.

Following the celebrations of Anant Ambani’s wedding, designer Manish Malhotra shared some glimpses of Nita Ambani looking stunning in a pink ‘Charbagh saree’. She paired this saree with a purple blouse embellished with real gold leaf work, specially crafted by Pichwai artist Shehzad Ali Sherani from Kishangarh, Rajasthan.

According to a report by the ‘Indian Express’, Shehzad was approached to create this blouse just a week before Anant and Radhika’s wedding. He explained that he, his son, and their team worked for 50-55 hours to complete the blouse for Nita Ambani. He said, “It was a major challenge. My son Faizan, our team, and I worked together for 50-55 hours. We managed to deliver it on time.”

Pichwai is a traditional painting placed behind the idol of Shri Nathji or Thakurji, a form of Lord Krishna. In the same interview, the artist mentioned that Nita Ambani specifically requested the inclusion of real gold leaves in the blouse. He said, “We first made a drawing and got it approved. Then, we printed the blouse and applied yellow color as the base where we wanted to place the real gold from Jaipur’s ‘Pannigaron ka Mohalla’. Designer Manish Malhotra asked us to work with real gold on the blouse.”

On July 18, 2024, Pichwai artist Shehzad Ali Sherani shared a post on his Instagram account about the opportunity to showcase his art on a global platform. He reshared the original post from the ‘NMACC’ Instagram page. In a part of this post, Nita Ambani expressed her admiration for Indian craftsmanship, saying, “During Anant and Radhika’s wedding, I enjoyed embracing the beauty of Indian weaving and embroidery, crafted by master artisans using centuries-old traditional techniques. The intricate detailing of the sarees and craftsmanship brought me immense joy. I am delighted to play a small role in preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage.”
