The press conference of International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2024 was held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on 10th September evening. Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Rana Daggubati, Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee attended this press conference.
South actor Rana Daggubati showed how South Indians do it as he touched Shah Rukh Khan’s Feet at the press conference of IIFA Awards 2024. SRK smiled and greeted him with a warm hug and kiss.
Speaking at the event, Rana said to SRK, “Sir, I don’t know if you remember. We were four languages and had an event in Dubai at one point. We came to an after-party at your house”. SRK instantly said, “Should I tell them about it? I was trying to keep it under wraps”.
Rana shared how SRK was at the party. “He actually entertained the actors from all the four industries-not just as an actor, but as a human being. Thank You,” he added.
SRK was seen sporting a sleek, short hairstyle at the press conference in Mumbai. He opted for a black T-shirt paired with flare pants and white sneakers. He also wore a black cap.
Before Rana Daggubati took the stage, actors Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee brought the roof down when they touched their own feet after welcoming Karan Johar on stage.
SRK praised Abhishek Banerjee for his performance in the recently released Film, Stree 2, “So good to see you live after watching your wonderful film. I have been watching to call you”.
SRK informed about the award ceremony, “There’s Shahid Kapoor. Vicky Kaushal is going to perform and so are Jahnvi Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and above all, the most wonderful Rekha ji would also be there. Hence, for me, it’s a great honour and privilege”.
SRK said, ”But then IIFA always thinks big. And now, with the inclusion of Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema, I think mashallah this is more Indian than it has ever been before”.
SRK requested to come for rehearsals. He revealed, ”Karan has told me that he will rehearse for hosting. He’ll do it on Zoom!” He further told Karan Johar laughingly, “Picturein bhi bana, mere bhai. Kitna host karega!”
The IIFA Awards 2024 will be held between September 27 and 29 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Shah Rukh Khan and the filmmaker Karan Johar will host the main awards night. Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee will be hosting the IIFA Rocks. On the other hand, Rana Daggubati will host IIFA Utsavam.
