Ranveer Allahbadia Faces Supreme Court Blow: Popular influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known for his podcast and social media presence, has landed in legal trouble following his controversial remarks on a YouTube show. Multiple FIRs have been filed against him across different states, leading him to seek urgent relief from the Supreme Court. However, the apex court refused to grant an immediate hearing.
On Friday, Allahbadia’s lawyer, Abhinav Chandrachud, approached the Supreme Court, requesting urgent intervention, citing that his client had been summoned by Assam Police. A bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar declined the request, stating that the petition would be listed in due course within two to three days.
The controversy stems from Allahbadia’s appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show India’s Got Latent, where his remarks on parents and sex triggered backlash. Following the outrage, multiple complaints were filed against him and others involved in the show.
Meanwhile, Allahbadia was expected to appear at Khar Police Station on February 13 to record his statement. However, he skipped the summons and requested that his statement be recorded at his residence, a plea that Mumbai Police rejected. As a result, he is now required to visit the police station in person.
Additionally, comedian Samay Raina has also received a summons from both the National Commission for Women (NCW) and Mumbai Police, asking him to appear within five days.
