Rupali Ganguly, widely known for her role in Anupamaa, has found herself in the center of a controversy involving her stepdaughter, Esha Verma. Esha has accused Rupali of contributing to the breakdown of her mother’s marriage to Ashwin Verma, Rupali’s current husband. The allegations have sparked a public feud, with Rupali recently issuing a Rs. 50-crore defamation notice against Esha.
In a recent interview, Rupali opened up about the impact of the accusations. Acknowledging her feelings, she said, “If I tell you that these things don’t affect me, then I’d be lying. Of course, such things affect us. We are humans, after all.” She admitted that even small comments made behind her back can hurt.
Rupali emphasized her belief in karma, stating that good deeds eventually bring good outcomes. She reflected, “Achhe karam karte jao, achhi cheeze aap ke saath aaj nahi toh kal zaroor hongi.” She also expressed faith in the eventual triumph of truth, despite the difficult times she faces. She remarked tht those who loves her, have faith on her and that’s what matters.
Esha Verma, 26, responded to Rupali’s comments with a series of social media posts. Without naming Rupali directly, Esha criticized influential individuals who she believes misuse their fame and wealth to distort the truth. In one post, she wrote, “Fame, money, and power may shield the truth for a time, but they can never erase the harm caused.”
Esha’s posts focused on accountability and integrity. She suggested that true character is reflected in actions, not words. She argued that those who refuse to take responsibility for their actions set poor examples for future generations. She wrote, “What examples are we setting… especially adults in position of influence- for children and future generations when selfish actions harm others for personal gains?”
In another post, Esha directly addressed the situation, writing, “Yes, this is a response to recent comments.” She reiterated her commitment to standing up for the truth and confronting false narratives whenever necessary.
For those unversed, Ashwin Verma was married to Sapna Verma from 1997 to 2008. Esha is their daughter. Before marrying Rupali in 2013, Ashwin had been married twice. Rupali and Ashwin welcomed their son, Rudransh, in the same year they tied the knot.
The public exchange between Rupali and Esha has drawn mixed reactions. While some support Rupali’s stance, others sympathize with Esha’s point of view. The controversy has raised broader questions about family dynamics and the impact of fame on personal relationships.
