Bollywood actress Shamita Shetty recently faced a frustrating experience on her IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Chandigarh, where her luggage was unexpectedly offloaded without prior notice. The actress took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her displeasure, explaining that her bags, along with her hairdresser’s, were removed due to weight constraints—without her being informed in advance.
Sharing her ordeal in a video, Shamita stated, “I am stuck at the Chandigarh airport. I traveled from Jaipur to Chandigarh on an IndiGo airline, and my bags were offloaded without informing me. I came here for an event, and now both my and my hairdresser’s bags are left behind due to weight issues. Am I not supposed to be informed before something like this is done?”
Shamita further criticized IndiGo’s response, adding, “So IndiGo can just do this without informing me, expecting me to wait for their next flight at 10:30 pm, which is after my event concludes. The ground staff doesn’t know what to do or how to assist.”
U CANNOT OFFLOAD A BAG WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH THE PASSENGER!It’s just plain wrong! We pay for our tickets ul r not flying us for free its wrong what you did not just to me but 8 other ppl! Clearly ul don’t feel ul are answerable for your actions ..to anyone !! #indigousuck!

In response, IndiGo commented on her post, issuing an apology. They mentioned, “Ms. Shetty, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and would like to address the matter. We tried contacting you on the registered number, but the calls went unanswered. Could you please DM an alternate contact number and a convenient time for us to reach out?”
However, Shamita was not satisfied with the apology, firmly stating, “YOU CANNOT OFFLOAD A BAG WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH THE PASSENGER! We pay for our tickets; you are not flying us for free. It is wrong what you did to me and 8 other people! Clearly, you do not feel accountable.”
