According to Pakistan Daily, Shoaib’s sisters expressed concern over the couple’s separation and confirmed that their family did not attend his wedding. They also hinted that Sania was unhappy due to Shoaib’s alleged extramarital affair.
For a long time, Sania Mirza and her family remained silent about the divorce. However, after Shoaib Malik tied the knot with actress Sana Javed, Sania’s sister Anam Mirza addressed the issue publicly. On January 21, 2024, Anam shared an Instagram note stating that Sania had parted ways with Shoaib months ago and wished him well. She also urged people to respect Sania’s privacy during this sensitive time.
Earlier, Sania’s father, Imran Mirza, had confirmed to PTI that she had obtained a khula from Shoaib. In Islamic law, khula allows a wife to dissolve her marriage, ensuring equal rights, unlike a talaq, which is initiated by the husband.
Rumors about Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed’s relationship had been circulating for a while. Speculations intensified when Shoaib referred to Sana as a “friend” in a birthday post. On January 20, 2024, he officially announced their marriage, putting an end to all speculation.
