Mollywood Sexual Harassment: Under the Hema Committee’s report, several celebrities in the Malayalam film industry are facing accusations of sexual misconduct. Recently, actresses like Geetha Vijayan and Meenu Munir accused a director of such behavior.
Now, two women have accused director Sajin Baabu of attempting rape and sexual assault. Both women provided their statements to the Hema Committee, and the subsequent report has stunned everyone. Upon learning about the accusations, director Sajin Baabu immediately accepted his mistake, stating that he had already apologized to both women. He also mentioned discussing the matter with the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC).
Women Share Accounts of Sexual Harassment
According to media reports, two women have come forward to share their experiences of sexual harassment, accusing Malayalam director Sajin Baabu. They claim that the director is trying to maintain a clean image in the industry. One woman alleges that Sajin Baabu attempted to rape her. When she resisted, he started masturbating. She mentioned that this incident occurred when she was not yet a part of the industry.
Accusations of Attempted Rape
The woman further explained that her first meeting with director Sajin Baabu happened through a friend. She claimed that while she was reading the script for her first film, Sajin Baabu tried to rape her. She started screaming, aware that there were other people nearby, which led the director to immediately apologize. When she tried to leave, he began masturbating. The woman stated that she managed to escape with great difficulty.
Harassment in Girlfriend’s Room
Meanwhile, another woman also accused Sajin Baabu of sexual harassment, revealing that she was coerced into staying with the director’s girlfriend. On the first night, when his girlfriend was not in the room, Sajin Baabu sneaked in and started asking her about working in films. She alleged that during the conversation, the director tried to touch her inappropriately. When she began shouting in protest, he immediately apologized.
Director Apologizes to the Women
Both women mentioned that they did not know each other initially. It was during their complaints to the Hema Committee members that they met and realized they were both complaining about the same person. The first woman reported that when Sajin Baabu found out she had testified against him, he called her and said, “I made a mistake. Please forgive me.”
