An entertaining promo of a candid conversation between Ritvik Dhanjani, Geeta Kapoor, and Zakir Khan on the Aapka Apna Zakir created a buzz in the audience. Now the premiere of the episode rightfully fed the audience’s expectation.
A talk show Aapka Apna Zakir Hosted by the famous comedian Zakir Khan recently welcomed Geeta Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, and Terence Lewis, three judges of India’s Best Dancer 4. The conversation with Ritvik Dhanjani turned intense.
One of the panalists of the show Ritvik Dhanjani became nostalgic during the conversation and shared his experience about his first 1stperformance on an award show which was choreographed by Geeta Kapoor. During the conversation, Ritvik said, “The first encounter that I had with Geeta Maa was in the year 2012. I was very nervous, I had just started as an actor and I was performing at an award show and I didn’t know that Geeta Maa was choreographing it”. He added, “We went and I danced and after some time, when I came down, I saw the one and only Geeta standing and there were four-five people who were scared that things were not working out. I saw Geeta Maa go up on stage. So, there was this routine where an actor had to perform in a technical as an actor did not show up, and Geeta Maa said she would do the technical. I saw Geeta Maa perform and I felt like a goddess was dancing in front of me. When Geeta Maa is in form, there is no one like her.”
In a witty exchange when Zakir Khan called Geeta Kapoor “Geeta Maa” she objected funfully and explained how the name landed on her. She said during a reality show in 2009 the contestants of the show gave her this name.
Meanwhile, makers have released a new promo of this Sunday episode which depicts Nollywood diva Raveena Tandon is going to the next guest of the show. She is seen talking about her life in Bollywood and beyond it in the promo. She discussed how her journey has evolved from mainstream Bollywood movies to today’s OTT platforms.
She said that she finds her first four to five years in the industry very monotonous. She felt that she wasn’t getting much place to explore herself. She said, “It was common for us to work on 30 movies a year and it was easy because the role was the same. But with time, I felt the need to challenge myself and break away from these repetitive roles as I wanted to grow as an actor. That’s when I decided to take on more intense roles and I took up ‘Shool’.
While talking about how she got the role in ‘Shool’ she said, “Ram Gopal Verma Ji, who is now a dear friend, was producing the film, Eshwar Nivas, was convinced that I could play Manjari Bhabhi. But Ram Gopal Verma Ji didn’t agree and he initially discouraged me from taking on such a demanding role as he had a certain image in his mind about me, owing to my previous roles. However, I saw it as an opportunity to push my limit, so I went ahead with it. I remember the day that I had a look test for it, I greeted Ramu with a cheerful ‘Hi’, and walked away. I was taken aback by his reaction as I felt that he didn’t want me to do this film. I didn’t let that affect me and I went ahead for the look test and I was soon fully immersed in my character. At that moment, he turned around and asked me, “Raveena, is that you?”. He didn’t recognize me because I was so deeply immersed in the character. That moment was a turning point for me- I never looked back after that, and people began to accept me in diverse roles.”
With this fun banter, real-life stories, and ‘shayries’ (poems) of Zakir Khan the show is making its place in the audience’s heart.
