The mythological drama Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav continues to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative and visually stunning storytelling. The show is now gearing up for a major twist with the entry of Karanvir Bohra, who takes on the role of Andhakasur, a formidable demon who dares to challenge Lord Shiva himself.
Karanvir Bohra’s portrayal of Andhakasur marks a significant milestone in his acting journey. Known for his commanding screen presence and mastery in playing complex villains, Bohra steps into the mythological genre for the first time. His character, Andhakasur, is a blind yet powerful Asur whose anger fuels a battle against the divine. Cursed with the ability to multiply with every drop of spilled blood, Andhakasur is an unstoppable force bent on seeking vengeance against what he perceives as injustices by Lord Shiva.
Bohra shared that taking on this role was both exciting and challenging. He described Andhakasur as more than just a villain, emphasizing the depth and intensity of the character. “Andhakasur is driven by rage and conviction, making him a unique antagonist. This role demanded that I explore deeper emotions and bring out the character’s complexities,” he explained. He called the role special for two characteristics of the character: one, Andhakasur is son of Lord Shiva and second, he is blind. He also said that working with the channel is like a home coming to him.
Portraying a character as layered as Andhakasur has been a transformative experience for Bohra. He noted the challenge of playing Shiva’s son while delivering lines against the deity, something he approaches with both reverence and dedication. “Being a Shiva devotee myself, it’s not easy to perform scenes opposing Him. I even apologize to Lord Shiva before and after such scenes as a personal ritual,” he revealed.
This role also demanded a significant transformation in Bohra’s appearance and acting approach. He expressed his excitement about exploring the mythology genre, calling it a fresh and rewarding challenge. “Opportunities like this don’t just happen by chance. They come when directors see your potential to bring something new to the table,” he added.
Despite his long career, Bohra is known for his impactful cameos rather than headlining shows. He views shorter roles as an opportunity to leave a lasting impression. “Cameos push you to deliver your best within a limited time. I thrive as an anti-hero—it’s where I feel most alive,” he shared.
As Andhakasur’s entry promises to shake the foundations of the Shiv Shakti saga, audiences can expect a thrilling clash of cosmic forces. With Karanvir Bohra at the helm of this iconic role, the show is set to deliver drama and intensity like never before.
