YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has landed in serious trouble over a crude remark made during his appearance on India’s Got Latent, a show hosted by comedian Samay Raina. His statement, perceived as vulgar and offensive, triggered massive backlash, leading to an FIR against him. The controversy has now reached the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), which has taken strict action against the video.

NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo sent an official letter to YouTube’s Public Policy Head, Mira Chatt, instructing them to remove the episode featuring Ranveer. He stated that a complaint had been lodged by Yogendra Singh Thakur, who accused the show of spreading inappropriate and obscene content under the pretext of free speech.

Expressing concern, the NHRC emphasized that the show promotes misleading messages and could negatively influence society. Kanoongo urged YouTube to act swiftly, demanding that they delete the objectionable video and share details of the channel and content with the police before taking it down.

The controversy erupted after Ranveer posed an unsettling question to a contestant on the show. “Would you rather watch your parents have s*x for the rest of your life or would you join in once and stop it forever?” The remark was met with instant outrage, with audiences, politicians, and public figures condemning his words.

Not just Ranveer, but Samay Raina, the show’s organizers, and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, widely known as ‘The Rebel Kid’, have also been named in the FIR. Authorities are now investigating their involvement in airing the offensive content.

Facing intense backlash, Ranveer released a video on Instagram, admitting his mistake. He acknowledged that his comment was inappropriate and unfunny. “Comedy is not my forte. I’m just here to say sorry,” he expressed, attempting to mend the damage.

The uproar soon caught the attention of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Addressing the growing criticism, he assured the public that necessary action would be taken against those responsible.

The incident has sparked a broader debate on the limits of humor, the responsibilities of influencers, and the impact of digital content on audiences. Many argue that while free speech is essential, creators must remain mindful of societal sensitivities. Others believe stricter regulations should be enforced on online platforms to prevent such incidents.

As investigations continue, all eyes are on YouTube’s response and the legal consequences Ranveer and the show’s creators may face. In the midst of all this B praak cancelled a podcast with Ranveer calling him out for this incident. He has lost significant number of followers also. The controversy has put the spotlight on digital content moderation, leaving many questioning where the line between humor and offense should be drawn.
