Charu Asopa, a familiar face in Indian television, has made headlines again and this time not for her work but for personal reasons. Recently, she shifted to Bikaner with her daughter, Ziana. She’s been transparent about the new chapter in her life through her vlogs. Her recent video didn’t just reveal her under-construction home in Bikaner, it also addressed online trolls and accusations made by her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen.
Charu’s life has been under public scrutiny for quite some time. The actress, once married to Rajeev Sen, brother of Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen. She found herself defending her choices again. Trolls questioned how she could afford a new house while selling clothes online. Her calm response came through a simple yet firm line: “Live and let live.”
But what truly stirred conversation was her reply to Rajeev’s recent statement. He had alleged that Charu was caught speaking to his best friend behind his back. In her vlog, she found this accusation confusing and unfair. She said it felt odd to be accused of being “caught red-handed” just for having a conversation. “Jab aapne range haath pakda toh aapko pata hoga ki maine kya baat ki,” she said, questioning the basis of the claim.
Charu didn’t stop there. She asked him to name the friend in question and share what the discussion was about. She emphasized that throwing accusations without facts is harmful. “Toh hawa mein nahi baat karni chahiye,” she added.
Rajeev, in an earlier interview with ETimes, recalled an incident that he believed marked the start of their fallout. He spoke of a family trip to Dubai, during which he claimed to have witnessed Charu talking to his best friend in a secretive manner. He said she later followed the same friend on Instagram. He felt betrayed and said that when he confronted her, she remained silent. According to Rajeev, she had many male friends, but he considered this behavior unacceptable because it involved someone he had been close to for two decades. “She crossed her line by being secretly friends with my best friend,” he stated, adding that things went downhill from that point.
The couple’s story began in 2019 when they got married. Two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Ziana. While their early days seemed happy, things changed fast. Public disagreements, accusations, and visible tension followed. They officially separated in 2023 after multiple attempts to reconcile.
In a world where personal lives are often torn apart in public, Charu’s voice remains steady. She’s not claiming to be perfect. She’s just asking for fairness and a little space to breathe.
