CID, one of Indian television’s longest-running and most cherished shows, is once again surprising its audience. Known for its gripping crime mysteries and iconic characters, the series has decided to take an unexpected creative turn. For the first time in its history, the makers have shot a silent episode, an hour-long story told without a single line of dialogue. Viewers will get to witness this unique episode on Sunday, April 27.

This episode, titled The Silent Den, unfolds inside a modern, high-tech escape room. What begins as a lively birthday celebration quickly spirals into something far more sinister. With no spoken words, the CID team must rely on glances, gestures, surveillance recordings, and forensic clues to solve the crime. Every expression, every silent reaction carries meaning, and it’s this fresh approach that has sparked excitement among fans and cast members alike.

Dayanand Shetty, famously known as Daya, opened up about the experience of filming such an unconventional episode. He described it as both difficult and satisfying. “Shooting a silent episode was both challenging and creatively fulfilling,” he expressed. Dayanand highlighted how they had to communicate using body language, facial expressions, and an unspoken understanding developed through years of working together. Without dialogue to rely on, the chemistry between the characters took center stage.

He also pointed out that this episode is especially meaningful for long-time followers of the show. He shared that stepping into this silent format pulled him out of his usual rhythm, calling it a “powerful” experience that tested their limits as performers. “As someone who’s been part of CID‘s journey from the beginning, I can say this episode carries an emotional weight that will hit home for our long-time fans,” he added.

Aditya Srivastava, who plays Senior Inspector Abhijeet, also reflected on the making of this landmark episode. He spoke about how storytelling doesn’t always need words. Sometimes, it’s the silences, the subtle looks, and the emotions in a character’s eyes that carry a narrative forward. He explained, “And this Sunday’s silent episode of CID pushes that belief to its absolute limit.” Aditya admitted it was a completely new experience for them as actors and will be equally fresh for the audience.

He mentioned that such challenges are rare in television, where dialogues often drive scenes. But this episode made them depend on instinct, team energy, and nuanced acting. It was this very challenge that made the process thrilling. Aditya emphasized how these creative risks help actors evolve and allow viewers to see their favorite characters in new light.

CID has remained in conversations recently, with updates about Shivaji Satam, who played the legendary ACP Pradyuman, stepping away from the show. At the same time, Parth Samthaan’s entry into the cast has generated plenty of curiosity. Despite these major shifts, the makers have proven they are determined to keep the series lively and unpredictable.

With more twists promised ahead, the series shows no signs of slowing down, even after decades of success. The CID team, both on and off screen, proves yet again why this show holds a timeless appeal for its loyal audience.
