Celebrity MasterChef is creating waves even without top TRP numbers. The show has unexpectedly become a fan favorite, mostly because of the unique blend of cooking and celebrity drama.
The show is judged by the renowned chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna. With Farah Khan as the host, the energy remains high. Her comic timing and warmth keep things lively even when the challenges get intense. The finale week has kicked off, and the top five contestants, Gaurav Khanna, Nikki Tamboli, Tejasswi Prakash, Faisal Shaikh (aka Faisu), and Rajiv Adatia are now fighting for the title. The kitchen has turned into a battlefield where every second counts.
In the latest episode, the contestants were met with a surprise. Chef Rahul Rana arrived with a special challenge. He brought with him the concept of “Shadras,” a traditional platter with six very different dishes. Together, they held a total of 22 elements. It was a mammoth task, not just because of the variety but because of the time pressure. The contestants had only 150 minutes to complete everything from scratch.
The complexity of the dishes left everyone stunned. Each element needed precision. The flavors had to complement each other. The plating had to be picture-perfect. And in the middle of this chaos, Gaurav Khanna walked in with a slight advantage which he had won the last cooking challenge. As a reward, Chef Rahul Rana was allowed to assist him in preparing one of the dish’s components.
Gaurav had already won two consecutive challenges. Naturally, there was pressure to turn this into a hattrick. But things took an unexpected turn when his colour blindness made plating a challenge. This particular dish required a detailed garnish using tiny flowers of various shades. Gaurav found himself at a disadvantage. He said, “Jab main plating karne par aaya.. as a colour blind guy aaj ki dish mein vakayi mein woh ek disadvantage mehsus hua mereko. Kyunki itne saare chote chote flowers mujhe uske upar lagane hain…garnish karne hain aur mujhe unn flowers ka rang he nahi samajh aaraha.”
Seeing him struggle, Chef Ranveer and Rajiv stepped in to guide him through the colors. They didn’t want him to lose out because of something beyond his control. With their help, Gaurav completed his dish in time. Though he couldn’t plate exactly the way he wanted, his effort was appreciated. The dish was named the second-best of the challenge.
Faisu, on the other hand, delivered a performance that stood out. He not only managed the complex recipe well but also impressed the judges with balance and presentation. He walked away with the win and an advantage going into the next round. It was a big moment for him, especially at this critical stage of the competition.
While the ultimate winner remains a mystery, the journey itself has turned into a rollercoaster of surprises, emotions, and unforgettable flavors.
