The first season of Celebrity MasterChef left a mark. The finale brought applause, especially for Gaurav Khanna, who emerged victorious. Nikki Tamboli took the runner-up spot, and Tejasswi Prakash followed as the second runner-up. These three led a season filled with competition and creativity. But the show featured more than just them.
Among the initial contestants was Dipika Kakar, known widely for her role in Sasural Simar Ka. She was seen as one of the strongest players from the start. Her passion for food, dedication, and skill made her stand out. Fans were hopeful about her journey on the show. However, fate had other plans.
Midway through the season, Dipika made a difficult choice. A shoulder injury forced her to walk away from the competition. It wasn’t just a minor strain. The pain was enough to send her to the hospital. Doctors advised her to avoid any kind of pressure on the shoulder. Movement was restricted, and recovery became the priority.
The audience felt her absence. But now, in Celebrity MasterChef MasterClass, the makers brought her back and this time, not as a competitor, but as a guest. The episode also featured Tejasswi Prakash and Faisal Shaikh. Together, they revisited memories and moments from their time on the show. Chef Ranveer Brar hosted the session with his usual warmth.
During the conversation, Dipika opened up about her exit. Though she wasn’t physically on the show anymore, she never lost touch with it. “I missed the show a lot and I closely watched all the episodes after leaving the show,” she said. Her connection to the journey didn’t break. She continued, “I have followed the show properly and the way all the contestants enhanced the show, I missed the show a lot.”
She also shared that recovery is progressing. She revealed, “Yes, it what it is, recovering is going in the right way. It was the right decision to quit the show midway because when I was home, there was no stress and being at home also helped.” These words reflected the calm she found in choosing her health over competition.
Though she’s still healing, Dipika hasn’t turned her back on cooking. She said she continues to cook, but now only when it feels comfortable. The love for food hasn’t faded, only the pace has changed.
For Dipika, the show remains special. Her words and presence proved that the bond with Celebrity MasterChef runs deep.
