Aditi Sharma, widely recognized for her roles in Apollena and Rabb Se Hai Dua, has finally broken her silence regarding her controversial marriage with Abhineet Kaushik. The news of their secret wedding and subsequent divorce has sparked countless debates, especially after Abhineet accused Aditi of infidelity. Now, the actress has come forward to share her side of the story.
In an exclusive conversation, Aditi made it clear that while their wedding was private, it was never a secret. “It was a private ceremony, known to my family, friends, and relatives,” she said, firmly denying any claims that she had ever referred to it as a “mock marriage.” She emphasized that love was the driving force behind her decision to marry. She deeply cared for him and feared losing him, which is why she agreed.
Aditi also pointed out that one of the reasons they kept their marriage under wraps was her professional commitments. At that time, she was portraying an 18-year-old character in Apollena and didn’t want her personal life to affect her career.
She revealed that Abhineet’s family played a significant role in pushing them towards marriage. His parents, being elderly, often brought up the topic of marriage. “He had other proposals, and I feared losing him,” she admitted. When he proposed to her in Romania during Khatron Ke Khiladi, she agreed, hoping for a fresh start.
However, their relationship had been unstable for a long time. They often considered ending things, but she believed marriage could strengthen their bond. “I thought we would grow as individuals and as a couple,” she expressed. But within a month of marriage, serious issues emerged. There was misbehavior, and she faced difficulties she chose not to disclose due to legal constraints.
She accused Abhineet of treating her and her family with disrespect. When both families met to discuss their separation, hers stood by her after hearing both perspectives. She claimed that he had insulted her family multiple times, not just on this occasion but in front of their friends as well.
Regarding allegations that she mistreated Abhineet’s family, she refuted them outright. “I have never disrespected them. Can you imagine the person you love making such accusations against you?” she questioned. She admitted that she couldn’t even bring herself to watch his interviews, as she knew he was distorting facts.
On the topic of domestic abuse accusations, she chose to remain cautious. “I am bound by legal advice not to speak about this, but I can say that it was not from my side. My lawyers will present every proof in court,” she said firmly.
Aditi revealed that she was forced to leave her home due to threats. She stated that some people associated with the underworld were linked to Abhineet and his best friend. She also claimed to have received direct threats from him. “He had warned that if I left him, he would defame me and my family, and he followed through,” she disclosed. This was why she hesitated to speak openly. She questioned whether she was expected to suffer indefinitely just because society views divorce negatively. “Should I wait 10 or 20 years before finally speaking about my suffering?” she asked.
Her alleged affair with Apollena co-star Samarthya Gupta became another talking point. She dismissed the claims, stating that accusations of infidelity were thrown at her frequently. “Speaking to a man at a party, replying to a message, or even using a heart emoji became an issue,” she shared. Their counselor had even pointed out that these allegations stemmed from Abhineet’s insecurities.
Aditi further alleged that Abhineet had been tracking her movements. While there was no built-in tracker in her car, two AirTags were found, which she believed he had placed. Although they had been discovered, she suspected they had already been unlinked before she could take action.
In the end, Aditi made a heartfelt plea for understanding. “This was meant to be a private matter, but now it’s public. I just want peace of mind. I hope people can be humane and view this situation with an open heart,” she said. Now, as she moves forward, she hopes for closure and a life free from past turmoil.
