The passing of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain writer Manoj Santoshi on March 24 has left the entertainment industry in mourning. Reports indicate that Santoshi succumbed to a liver ailment on March 23 in Hyderabad. Following his demise, actress Shilpa Shinde, who portrayed Angoori in the show’s initial episodes, revealed she had been overseeing his finances during his battle with cancer.

Expressing her frustration, Shilpa accused the hospital and its doctors of negligence. Reflecting on her involvement, she said they had tried everything possible for Santoshi’s treatment. “We did a lot of procedures, and many were successful, but the doctor’s negligence was evident,” she shared. According to her, the medical staff acted carelessly, assuming the absence of family members.

Shilpa did not hold back from criticizing the healthcare system. “It has become a horrible business. Hospitals are simply making money. They even conducted dialysis on a deceased person,” she alleged. While she had traveled to Mumbai for work for two days, she believed that the doctors assumed the lack of family presence and took advantage of the situation.

The actress mentioned that she had received a call from the hospital with promising news of an organ match for Santoshi. Hopeful for his recovery, she immediately thought of completing the necessary financial formalities. “Since I was handling the payments, I thought the liver transplant would proceed. Then, suddenly, at 6 AM, I got a call that Manoj had gone into a coma,” she said, still in disbelief.

Even after the incident, Shilpa remembered how Santoshi had sounded positive just a day before his passing. He had assured her that he was feeling better. However, upon her return to the hospital, she was told that his kidney had failed due to liver damage.

Questioning the doctors further, she was shocked by their apparent certainty about the exact time of the coma. “They called at 6 AM, claiming he had gone into a coma. How could they be so sure about the timing?” she asked.

Shilpa also alleged that the hospital was merely putting on a show for her. “They were performing dialysis just to convince me, but it was evident that he was no more,” she said, accusing the doctors of negligence and malpractice.

The actress’s emotional account has raised significant concerns about medical ethics and accountability. Shilpa Shinde, who continues to grieve the loss of her close friend, remains firm in her belief that the hospital’s negligence played a significant role in Santoshi’s tragic end. Her statements have further ignited public discourse on the need for stricter regulations in the healthcare sector.

While Shilpa Shinde is widely recognized for her portrayal of Angoori in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, her relationship with Santoshi extended beyond the professional sphere. Her efforts to support him during his battle with cancer and her determination to seek justice for his alleged mistreatment reflect her deep bond with the late writer.
