After six memorable years, music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani has bid farewell to Indian Idol. In an emotional video posted on Instagram, he revealed that this season marked his final appearance as a judge on the singing reality show. Six straight seasons later, tonight is my last episode as a judge on Indian Idol. I hope the show will miss me as much as I’ll miss it.”
He expressed deep appreciation for the people he worked with over the years. He named Shreya, Badshah, Aditya Narayan, and several others who had been part of the journey, producers, crew, musicians, technicians. He called the stage “pure love,” and said the show had felt like home.
In the caption, Vishal wrote, “Alvida, yaaro. 6 seasons mein jitna mazaa kiya, uss se bhi zyada yaad aayegi.” He thanked the show for giving him more love than he ever expected and said he’s forever grateful.
He said he wanted his time back. He didn’t want to stay confined to the city for half the year. “I’m literally only leaving because I want my time back. Can’t stay stuck in Mumbai for 6 months each year!” he explained. With that, he announced his return to what he loves most, creating music, performing live, and staying far away from makeup chairs. “It’s #VishalAndSheykhar season!! Jai ho!” he signed off with that classic spark of energy.
He didn’t just thank the big names. He went on to mention even the smallest members of the crew.
