This week, Kaun Banega Crorepati welcomed young minds to the stage as KBC Juniors showcased talents aged 8 to 15. Among them was Pranusha Thamke, a cheerful and confident 6th grader from Vidarbha, Maharashtra. She arrived with her parents and younger sister, determined to make the most of her time in the hot seat.
As the game progressed, Pranusha shared a playful moment with Amitabh Bachchan. She proudly declared herself a ‘Superpower bathroom singer’. Amused, Big B responded that no one in the world exists who isn’t a bathroom singer. Their conversation took an interesting turn when he recalled an old memory about a singer from a village. He spoke of a man who loved singing and would use the noise of a tractor as background music.
Reminiscing about childhood, Mr. Bachchan narrated an incident from his younger days. He and his friends once placed blocks of ice in front of a fan to cool their room. Later, when they got a fridge, they were fascinated by its cold air. He said, “We were young and one day we got into the fridge and the door got locked.” He recalled screaming for help until someone rescued them. “we were ready to do anything to escape from the heat”, he concluded. With a playful chuckle, he turned to Pranusha’s younger sister and advised her never to try such a thing. Without hesitation, the little one quipped that their fridge was unused, leaving the audience in laughter.
As the game continued, Pranusha had a fun exchange with the legendary actor. She looked at him and made an observation about Aishwarya Rai’s beauty. She described her as ‘so stunning that words fall short’. Since he lived with her, she asked if he could share beauty secrets. Big B smiled and replied, “Dekhiye ek baat bataye aapko. Chehre ki khoobsurati woh kuch salon mein mit jaayegi, aapke dil ki khoobsurati woh sab se ahem rehta hai.”
Pranusha then made a special request. She wished to spin around in the hot seat. Mr. Bachchan recalled how many contestants had tried, only to get stuck midway. He warned her but let her give it a go. As she attempted the turn, just as predicted, she got stuck. Laughing, the veteran actor stepped in and helped her complete the spin.
Her gameplay was remarkable, as she displayed intelligence and composure. She managed to win 12,50,000 points before deciding to quit at the 13th question. The final question she faced was about Thomas Edison. It asked what words he used while testing his phonograph, an early device that could record and play back sound. The options were:
A) Johnny Johnny Yes Papa
B) Mary Had a Little Lamb
C) Happy Birthday to You
D) Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
After quitting, she guessed option D. However, the correct answer was option B- Mary Had a Little Lamb. The host smiled and recited a few lines of the poem, adding to the moment.
