Celebrity MasterChef has officially wrapped up its first season, but the buzz around the show refuses to fade. The finale was a grand event. Gaurav Khanna was declared the winner. He walked away with the trophy and the coveted chef coat. His victory brought him both joy and attention.
Nikki Tamboli secured the first runner-up spot. Tejasswi Prakash followed as the second runner-up. While all three finalists delivered exceptional performances, many fans were stunned to see Tejasswi not in the top two. She had been a consistent and strong performer throughout the show. When the final results were announced, a section of the audience believed she deserved more.
Despite the noise, the contestants maintained a healthy bond with one another. Gaurav recently opened up about the situation.
He reacted to the fan rivalry with calmness and clarity. “Let them be. Me and Tejasswi have no problem. We are like what can we do about it. It is people and their ideologies,” he said. Gaurav shared that he and Tejasswi have known each other for a long time, nearly a decade. Their equation was never competitive, at least not in the negative sense.
Gaurav recalled teasing her once, telling her, “Teja I know you when you were Tejasswi. You became Teja now. These years you have done really well for yourself and become very popular.” He explained that their bond goes way back. He mentioned that Tejasswi used to be best friends with Akanksha during their Swaragini days. Their off-screen friendship was full of laughter and light moments.
He added that he often jokingly referred to her as a tomboy, saying she felt like one of his guy friends. He described her as funny and full of energy, and said they shared a lot of enjoyable moments while shooting for the show. The two never saw each other as rivals. In fact, Gaurav clarified that the so-called competition was never real between them.
He emphasized that both of them are experienced professionals who understand how the industry works. They are unaffected by random opinions floating online.
He also mentioned his fondness for Tejasswi’s partner, Karan Kundrra. During the finale, Karan showed his support with a powerful line, “bhai Kanpur kya pura Punjab tere sath hai.” That moment reflected the positive vibes shared among them. Gaurav appreciated that kind of brotherhood and said they all celebrated each other’s achievements without any envy.
He wrapped up his thoughts by calling Tejasswi a lovely person and complimented her cooking skills. The finale might have crowned Gaurav, but the journey highlighted strong friendships and mutual respect among contestants.
