The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 on February 14 brought an exciting pitch from Green Day, an agricultural service brand dedicated to providing nutrient-rich food. Their approach involved not just supplying specially developed seeds but also educating farmers on superior cultivation techniques. The company’s founders, a married couple, entered the tank with a proposal, seeking ₹60 lakhs in exchange for 1% equity.

Their passion and commitment impressed the Sharks, but what truly set the stage on fire was the fierce battle between Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh as they fought to win the deal.

As the pitch began, co-founder Prateek introduced himself and mentioned his MBA degree from IIM Ahmedabad. The moment Vineeta Singh heard the name of her own institution, she immediately asked him about his batch. Realizing he was her junior, she laughed and remarked that compared to her, he was still a kid, as she had graduated in 2007.

The couple then shared their journey, revealing that after their wedding, they had spent two years in a village, living among farmers to stay close to their work. Anupam Mittal found their decision amusing and teased them, calling it an “extended honeymoon.”

Another unexpected moment came when Kunal Bahl disclosed that he had crossed paths with Prateek in the company’s early days. Back then, he had chosen not to invest. However, now, seeing the progress they had made, he referred to Prateek as the most ‘best founder’ he had ever met.

As the pitch advanced, most of the Sharks chose to step back. Only Namita and Vineeta remained in the running, each determined to close the deal. Vineeta presented an offer of ₹60 lakhs for 2% equity, keeping it simple with no royalty involved. Namita, on the other hand, proposed ₹60 lakhs for 1% equity but added a 0.5% royalty clause until the investment amount was recovered.

Faced with two compelling offers, the couple requested some time to think. Eventually, they asked if both Sharks could collaborate on a joint investment. Vineeta agreed instantly, but Namita hesitated. She wanted to go solo.

Sensing an opportunity, the founders turned to Vineeta and pointed out that she was a senior from their college. Before Vineeta could respond, Namita quickly stepped in, revealing that her father also graduated from IIM Ahmedabad.

Anupam Mittal seized the moment and playfully asked Namita, “Papa ke naam pe deal bhi logii.” She laughed and confidently responded that she would take any opportunity that came her way.

After carefully considering both offers, the founders made their final decision. They chose Namita’s deal, citing her strong belief in their vision as the ultimate reason.

This episode perfectly captured the competitive yet entertaining spirit of Shark Tank India, proving once again that winning a deal isn’t just about numbers, it’s about trust, persistence, and the unwavering confidence of the investors.
