Ragini Khanna has been a beloved face on Indian television, known for her portrayal of Suhana in the popular show Sasural Genda Phool. She has also entertained audiences with her comedic performances on various shows, including The Kapil Sharma Show. However, she has been absent from the entertainment scene for some time now. Recently, she broke her silence and revealed the real reason behind her decision to step away from The Kapil Sharma Show.

During a candid conversation on a podcast with Hindi Rush, Ragini shared that her departure from The Kapil Sharma Show was not a hasty decision but one that had been brewing for a while. She explained that she wasn’t happy with the kind of roles she was being offered. According to her, “There was nothing substantial for me to do on the show.”

Ragini opened up about how she was repeatedly offered roles where she had to portray a “hot girl.” She revealed that a friend who worked on the show had approached her with a role, but it didn’t align with what she wanted for herself. She candidly shared, “Only ‘hot girl’ roles are written for me, where women are expected to wear short and revealing clothes. That’s what pleases the audience, and I didn’t want to continue doing that.”

During the podcast, Ragini also touched upon a lighthearted moment from the show. She recalled how even Krushna Abhishek, known for his comic portrayal of the character Sapna, was often dressed as a glamorous woman. She laughed and remarked, “Even Krushna Abhishek aka Sapna is a hot girl in the show.” The comment, although humorous, hinted at the kind of roles she was being typecast into.

It’s evident that Ragini wasn’t comfortable being limited to such roles. She had previously expressed her dissatisfaction with the industry’s expectations. In an earlier interview, she had mentioned that working on top-rated shows came with its own set of challenges. “If you are the highest-rated show on television, then you have to go through the grind. It took a toll on my physical health as well as my mental health,” she had revealed.

For now, Ragini has stepped away from daily soap operas and comedy shows. Her decision to distance herself from The Kapil Sharma Show is a reflection of her desire for roles that offer more depth and substance.

Despite her absence from television, fans continue to remember and appreciate her for her portrayal of Suhana in Sasural Genda Phool and her energetic performances in comedy shows. While she may have stepped away from the limelight, her impact on Indian television remains significant. Whether or not she will return to the screen is uncertain, but one thing is clear that Ragini is determined to prioritize roles that align with her vision and self-worth.
