Rajesh Kumar, best known for his role in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, recently shared his thoughts on the allegations against Rupali Ganguly by some of her Anupamaa co-stars. Several actors from the show reportedly held her responsible for their exits. Rajesh discussed these claims and his bond with Rupali Ganguly.
When asked whether actors in the television industry influence casting decisions and push out colleagues they don’t get along with, Rajesh admitted that personal connections do play a role. He stated, “Har koi apna contact toh use karna hi chahega. Main bhi karta hoon, ayesa nahi hain”. He explained that if a film is being cast and he knows someone involved, he might put in a word, though that doesn’t necessarily guarantee an advantage.
The interviewer then mentioned the allegations against Rupali Ganguly, suggesting that she had a hand in removing her co-actors from Anupamaa. Rajesh responded with skepticism, refusing to believe such claims without evidence. He remarked, “Suni sunai baaton pe main vishwas nahi karta… Sarabhai mein toh ayesa koi situation nahi bana tha ki casting… or she must be thinking of opening a casting agency”. He maintained that without firsthand knowledge, he couldn’t comment on the matter.
Rajesh also clarified that he is not active in the television circuit anymore and is unaware of the current dynamics on the Anupamaa set. He shared, “I do not know, so how can I comment on that? I am not even in the television circuit these days. I do not even know where her set is. I know it’s in Film City, and I have been there, but if you ask me today, I will have to ask the location of Anupamaa’s set.”
Discussing his relationship with Rupali Ganguly, Rajesh revealed that it is difficult to find time to meet her, but when they do, they never discuss such controversies. He expressed his fondness for her, saying, “It’s a task to meet Rupali, and when we meet, we do not talk about these allegations; we are lost in our world. So, I’m not the right person to comment on this. But as a human, I love both brother and sister, yaar.” His statement suggests that he values his personal bond with her and doesn’t engage in industry gossip.
