Prateek Vats and Deepesh Shrivastava entered Shark Tank India 4 with a vision rooted in adventure. Their brand, Wanderlooms, was born from a passion for riding and exploration. They wanted to provide fellow travelers with high-quality, stylish, and functional gear. More than just a business, their company represented a lifestyle built for those who crave the open road.

Prateek, a seasoned rider from Bhopal, had been deeply involved in the biking community since 2007. His journey took an unexpected turn when he suffered a heart attack in the middle of a jungle during a solo ride on July 5, 2020. He recalled how he felt uneasy and called a fellow rider, who happened to be a cardiologist. Following his friend’s instructions, he found a way out and reached a hospital 40 km away, where he was treated in time.

Namita Thapar, shocked by his story, immediately asked if he had undergone a stent procedure. Prateek confirmed, revealing that he had two. Despite the health scare, his passion never wavered, and he continued to build Wanderlooms alongside Deepesh, who initially joined as an intern and later became a co-founder.

On Shark Tank India 4, they presented their company with confidence, seeking Rs 50 lakh for a 2.5% stake. Prateek explained that their business was not just about touring but about storytelling. Every journey, he said, carried emotions and deep connections, and their brand aimed to capture those experiences in their wearable products. Presenting Wanderlooms on the show was a significant step towards scaling their dream.

The sharks listened intently. Namita and Ritesh Agarwal teamed up to make the first offer: Rs 50 lakh in exchange for 5% equity. Ritesh shared his excitement about helping them grow by connecting them with travel groups and motorbike companies. Aman Gupta, impressed by their ability to turn passion into profession, matched the same offer.

Prateek countered with a 4% equity proposal, which both parties agreed to. However, when it came time to decide, he chose Namita and Ritesh’s deal. Namita, intrigued by his decision, remarked that most founders would have asked all three sharks to join. Prateek admitted that if he had done so, they might have pushed the equity up to 6%.

Aman, slightly surprised, asked why he hadn’t been chosen despite making the same offer. Prateek explained that Ritesh’s network could provide valuable opportunities for their community. Aman took the moment in stride, joking that he had just learned even sharks had to pitch themselves to entrepreneurs. Prateek, in his signature witty style, responded that while he hadn’t meant to put it that way, it was good that Aman had understood. The entire room burst into laughter, sealing the deal on a high note.
