Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, known for its influence to give flight to dreams gives a yet another exciting episode. Rashmi Kumari, a Senior Bank Manager from Ranchi, took the hot seat. After 24 years of attempts, finally hearing her name from host Amitabh Bachchan made the experience all the more special for Rashmi.
Rashmi opened up to Mr. Bachchan about her personal life, revealing a deeply emotional story about her 16-year-old daughter, who faces significant challenges. She shared that her daughter is a special child with limited vision, reduced hearing, and a developmental delay that places her mental age at 3-4 years. Rashmi’s daughter attends a special school, where Rashmi keeps a close watch over her progress. Shravani, a Block Social Security Officer, works to support minority and disabled communities. Mr. Bachchan as a gesture of appreciation, presented her with a gold coin. To respect this gesture she said, “Sir aapse sone ka sikka milna bahut shubh hai mere liye”. Delighted, Shravani added, “aur sir jis hisaab se sone ke rates badh rahe hain, (laughs) aap thoda sa sponsors ko bole ke mujhe discount dilaa dijiye, abhi tak shopping nahi ki hai maine.” Big B quipped, “How would I know what you want to buy?” referring to online shopping he added, “Accha online haan, kya hai ke jab tak woh haanth gold leke tatola na jaaye… dikhe na woh pata nahi chalta ke kya kharida jaaye.”
When Big B asked her about her fiancé, Shravani then shared that her upcoming wedding in November is a “mummy-forced arranged marriage.” She recalled, “Sir, this is a ‘mummy-forced arranged marriage.’ I graduated in 2017, and ever since, my mom has been fixated on my marriage. Every six months, she’d bring me a new proposal, but I kept rejecting them because I wanted to first secure a job and become financially independent. However, after I got a job last year, she decided to create some big drama, declaring one day that if I didn’t get married, she would die! So, I had no choice but to agree. Finally, in February 2024, my wedding got fixed.”
While discussing Chilka Lake as one one of the answer Bigg B humorously said, “Odisha mein hai ye lake, Bhyaah hone waala hai inka aur honeymoon ka socha he nahi hai inhone, abhi aap jaayenge toh pucheyega ke iska naam Honeymoon aur Breakfast kyun rakha hai? Subah uth gaye toh dweep par chale gaye breakfast karne yaa shaadi ke baad wahan chale gaye honeymoon ke liye, humko jannana hai kaise pada ye naam, kaise hogaya ye..”
Big B played along, adding his humor by jokingly offering discounts on suiting and shirting brands he endorses and teasing Shravani about wedding expenses. During this conversation Sharvani asked Bigg B about his marriage. She jokingly asked, “Shaadi mein kya yaad rehta hai sabko Khaana, so who decided menu at your wedding? Bigg B responded, “Humari shaadi mein aisa kuch nahi hua tha, ek din chalte phir humne socha byaah kar lete hain unhone bhi kaha chalo theek hai… Byaah kiya ghar leke aaye.. joh ghar mein khana bana tha woh khila diya bus..” Sharvani then asked, “Sir Jaya ma’am ne kuch nahi bola?” and with a nod Mr. Bachchan said, “Haan bus aisa he tha.. koi taam jhaam nahi..”
Shravani then gifted Mr. Bachchan her first wedding invitation, stating, “ Sir, the first wedding card is usually given to God or someone very important, and since the KBC platform feels like family to us, I wanted to give my first wedding card to you.” Big B overwhelmingly wished her best wishes and showed the card to everyone.
