Samsung Galaxy A27 to Launch with 5000mAh Battery? Design and Features Revealed

Samsung appears to be preparing to launch the Galaxy A27 5G, the successor to last year’s Galaxy A26. The phone recently appeared on Samsung’s official Czech website, revealing its key specifications and design before the page was taken down. The Galaxy A27 is expected to come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the front camera – an upgrade over the A26’s teardrop notch.

Leaked renders show the phone in four colors: Black, Blue, Light Green, and Light Pink. The design features a flat frame and a vertical camera module on the back, similar to the Galaxy S26 series. The phone measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8mm and weighs approximately 200 grams. Samsung has promised six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A27, extending support until 2032.

Camera and Performance Upgrades

The Galaxy A27 features a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor that supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera is a 12MP sensor that supports 4K 30fps video recording. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, replacing the Exynos 1380 found in the previous model. This is expected to deliver smoother performance for everyday tasks, gaming, and multitasking.

Battery, Software, and Durability

The Galaxy A27 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W Super Fast Charging, capable of charging up to 45% in just 30 minutes. It runs Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box. However, Samsung has downgraded the water resistance from IP67 (on the A26) to IP64, which only protects against dust and water splashes. Samsung has also made some camera downgrades compared to the A26 – the ultra-wide camera drops from 8MP to 5MP, and the selfie camera goes from 13MP to 12MP. However, the company has added Object Eraser and Voice Transcription as AI features.

Expected Price and Availability

The Galaxy A27 is expected to be priced at €349 (approximately ₹38,400) for the 6GB + 128GB model and €439 (approximately ₹48,000) for the 8GB + 256GB variant. This represents a price increase of about ₹7,000 over the Galaxy A26.

Pros ✅

  • Six years of OS and security updates
  • 120Hz Super AMOLED display with punch-hole design
  • OIS on the 50MP primary camera
  • Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor (upgrade from Exynos)
  • 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging

Cons ❌

  • IP64 rating (downgrade from IP67 on A26)
  • Ultra-wide camera downgraded (8MP → 5MP)
  • Selfie camera downgraded (13MP → 12MP)
  • Higher price than previous model

Verdict: The Galaxy A27 brings some solid upgrades – a better display, a more efficient processor, and a strong software support promise. However, the downgraded water resistance and camera specifications, along with a higher price tag, may give some buyers pause. For users who prioritize long-term software updates and display quality over waterproofing, the A27 remains a compelling mid-range option. India pricing and availability are yet to be officially confirmed.
